
Open Door provides much more than just a roof over someone’s head. Homeless people can stay at open door for up to 28 nights where they receive support to address their homelessness and any other support needs. Open Door is open 365 days a year and we provide modern single en suite accommodation for 12 homeless people every night. A hot meal is provided in the evening and breakfast in the morning. Opening hours are as follows:
- Monday to Friday 6p.m – 8.45a.m. (Drop- in service 1pm - 2:30pm)
- Saturday and Sunday: 3p.m - 8.45a.m
Last entry time for service users is 8.00pm, in time for a cooked meal and hot drinks provided in a welcoming atmosphere.
People who are homeless and over the age of 18 are able to access Open Door in the following ways:
- self-referral - by presenting at the Drop in Service (see above) or by telephone (01727 859113)
- agency referral from 9.00am - 5.00pm Monday to Friday
- police referral up to 12 midnight
Services include weekly keyworking, access to counselling, signposting to specialist drug, alcohol and mental health services, activities and training.
