Open Door is an emergency night shelter and day centre in Bricket Road, St Albans, and is managed by Hightown Praetorian & Churches Housing Association. The original Open Door Project, which started in 1993, was simply a winter night shelter. By 1994 it had been transformed into an all - year round night shelter and in 1995 the day centre opened expanding the range of services further. Paid staff and volunteers work together in both the night shelter and day centre to create a welcoming environment. The range of services we offer depends on our funding situation.
